Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of the XXX Anniversary Remix Edition of Starbreaker’s self-titled debut album, originally released in 2005, and scheduled for December 4, 2026. The newly remixed and remastered edition is part of the label’s 30th anniversary celebrations, and will also be available in limited-edition physical formats.
Following the reissue of Over The Edge, Starbreaker is the second catalogue release to receive the anniversary treatment, with a third and final reissue set to follow before the end of the year.
To mark the announcement, the remixed version of "Lies" is available now, along with an official visualizer.
Originally released in 2005, Starbreaker’s self-titled debut album remains one of the finest examples of modern melodic hard rock, uniting the extraordinary talents of vocalist Tony Harnell (TNT), guitar virtuoso Magnus Karlsson (who is now guitarist for Primal Fear), bassist/producer Fabrizio Grossi (later on with Supersonic Blues Machine and Soul Garage Experience) and drummer John Macaluso (Ark, TNT, Yngwie Malmsteen).
Blending soaring melodies, muscular riffs and an unmistakable Scandinavian-American hard rock flair, the album quickly became a cult favourite among fans of powerful, hook-driven melodic metal.
Now, over twenty years later, Frontiers proudly presents a newly remixed and remastered edition of this acclaimed debut, featuring a stunning new mix by Aldo Lonobile, who has brought renewed depth, punch and clarity to these timeless recordings while fully preserving the album’s original energy and atmosphere.
From explosive anthems such as “Die For You” and “Crushed” to the emotional intensity of “Transparent” and “Light At The End Of The World”, Starbreaker still sounds vibrant, dynamic and incredibly fresh today. This special reissue celebrates a landmark release in the Frontiers catalog and offers fans the ultimate way to rediscover one of the defining melodic hard rock albums of the early 2000s.
Starbreaker was originally assembled by Frontiers as a one-off project built around TNT vocalist Tony Harnell. Fabrizio Grossi came on board as producer and bassist, Magnus Karlsson contributed the music and guitars/keyboards, and Harnell personally brought in his former TNT bandmate John Macaluso on drums. What began as a studio project quickly developed into a genuine band after the musicians heard the results of the sessions.
Harnell and Karlsson co-wrote the material, deliberately exploring a heavier and more aggressive side of Harnell's musical personality, while retaining the strong melodic identity associated with his work in TNT. Harnell also credited Grossi's production with giving the record much of its heavier character. The Starbreaker name itself was inspired by the Judas Priest song, reflecting Harnell's love of classic heavy metal.
The album was very well received by the melodic rock and metal press upon its original release in 2005, with reviewers frequently highlighting its combination of Harnell's melodic vocals, Karlsson's songwriting and guitar work, and a darker, heavier approach than much of Harnell's previous work.
